Friday, Sep 24 — Hammamet
We land at TUN Tunis-Carthage International Airport at 9:15a. Upon landing, the plane is diverted to a remote hanger away from the main terminal. We unload and I learn this is a covid testing station. Apparently, if anyone of us on the plane fails, we will all be restricted. Ugh. We are forcefully given a very deep nose / brain scrape covid test that causes involuntary shaking and sneezing. It is just awful, especiall as we had just taken a similar test the day before. Somehow, we all manage to pass, get on bus and head toward a prolonged immigration. Once the officer stamps my passport, I realize I have just entered my 100th country. Zara and I high-five each other. We exit the airport sveral hours after our scheduled arrival, yet we sill happen to meet our driver, who is luckily still waiting for us, and we happily drive to Hammamet. We check into room 1356 of La Badira, nap, pool, walk, dinner at Tunisian restaurant, great live music, walk around hotel, sleep. What a day!

Monday, Sep 27 — Tunis
Wake up, pack a bit, have a nice breakfast at 9am. At 10 head to beach and take a swim; read. Jump in pool, chill, pack, check out with a nice guest relations staff memeber named Rima Mhamdi.I"ll have to return to this place again. We meet our driver and race off to Tunis. When we arrive, parking is bit tough because of all the military. We have to navigate a bit through the medina until we arrive to Dar El Jeld Hotel & Spa. We check into wonderful room 26.
