Castillo de los Tres Reyes del Morro, La Habana, Cuba — May 13, 2003
This fortress with the name “The Three Kings” (1589 - 1610) was built on the Morro cliffs that gaurd the entrance to the Havana bay and its harbor within. It protected Havana from numerous attacks by French, Dutch and English pirates. Armed with heavy guns, among them the battery of 12 canons bearing the names of the 12 Apostles, it was considered to be impregnable for about 150 years.
Street life, La Habana, Cuba — May 11, 2003
The blue car is a Chevy, probably a ‘52. The one behind it with the hood up is probably a ‘54 Chevy. Of course there is a blue VW (they all look alike to me), and the next one parked at the curb is a ‘56 Chevy. The red one is a ‘53 or ‘54 Chevy.
